As we approach the American Thanksgiving holiday, we are reminded of our own festival of Sukkot we enjoyed only last month. Rabbi Sidney Guthman is a long time friend from Los Angeles, a brother in our Masonic and Scottish Rite orders and former Rabbi of Congregation Agudas Achim here in San Antonio (1948-1954) where he dedicated the Donaldson Avenue site. Well into his 90's , he continues to serve the Long Beach California Jewish Community as beloved teacher and counselor. His article published here will make you think, and be grateful for that which we enjoy. Our choir and I will be appearing at the Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Day Dinner at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center, at 10:00 a.m. in an ecumenical service of thanks and praise. It is my 8th celebration with them.
